The Czech Stiga Game association has been organizing the Czech Open tournament every year since 2003.
This year is the 20th anniversary. As a celebration of Stiga hockey in the Czech Republic, it was possible to combine it with the World Club Championship, which will be held in the Czech Republic for the fourth time, but for the first time in Prague.
Out of nineteen years, five Czech players managed to win the Czech Open six times. Lukáš Turoň was able to repeat his triumph eight years later. Finnish player Ahti Lampi won the Czech Open three times.
It is one of the biggest tournaments in the World League with regular participation of at least 100 players. In 2010 in Liberec and in 2014 in Letovice, 145 and 146 players gathered, respectively. The first WC club tournament was held in 1996 in Pilsen.
This year, the tournament will return to Prague on Saturday 20 April 2024.
Come and enjoy your favourite sport in the picturesque Czech capital.
